Rice (Oryza sativa) is an edible starchy grain that belongs to the grass family. Carbohydrate: Carbohydrates makes up 80% of total dry weight of rice. It is present in the form of starch. Starch are long chain of glucose called amylose and amylopectin. 

Fats: Fats content in rice is very low as long as you cook it Without adding any oil or butter. 

Protein: There are about 4-5 gram of protein in about 1 cup of rice serving. 

Vitamins and minerals: Rice is a good source of vitamin B and iron. It also is a good source of manganese and magnesium.
